The investigation focuses on the interpretation of a popular religious festival in homage to Yemaya where Shango is worshiped. We start by recognizing the insufficient study of the system of socio-cultural relations that make up the religious practices associated with the "Shango Macho" festivity in the Teresa Stable religious family. It was proposed as a general objective to characterize, based on the religious practices that typify the feast of "Shango Macho", the system of socio-cultural relations established in the religious family of Teresa Stable as an expression of the immaterial heritage of the municipality of Cruces. Religion and the practices associated with it, are linked to the identity fundamentals of Cuba as a nation. Hence the importance of studies on this subject to understand the processes and events of past and present history. Popular religiosity constitutes an essential element in the conformation of local identities, hence the study of this topic is of great significance for the implementation of cultural policies. Taking into account the sociocultural perspective in the approach to this phenomenon enriches the understanding, dissemination and conservation of its practices as an expression of its most genuine traditions.
